My favorite piece of technology
Definitely my favorite piece of technology is my notebook. I got it two years ago, in 2014. I use to think about my notebook as a very important tool for work. I use it to take notes about my classes, to study, to read books of my interest or that I have to read for the university, to write essays or works that I also have to do for the university, etc. But of course that doesn't mean that I only use it for academic things. I also use to watch movies and series on it, to navigate on the internet, to send emails and messages on other platforms (like Facebook), etc. So, because of what I said before I use it almost every day. I don't remember too many days which I haven't use it. But I use to get disconnected from it when I travel in my vacations or when I do something like that. Therefore, it is a very useful piece of technology for me and that's why I like it a lot. Probably, life without it wouldn't have the facilities that I get from my notebook. For example I would have to take notes of the classes on a classical notebook (not the electronic one; the one made of paper), and sometimes that will mean that I won't be capable of taking all the information that I want on a note. Of course I can take notes on a classical notebook, but I have the feeling that sometimes I can take better ones with my computer. To put another example, I can say that without it I would have to come to work to the university or to a friend's house every time I have to do some work that involves the use of Microsoft Word or Power Point. So it is really helpful to have with me.

Why did I chose my career?
I started to get interested in Psychology around my lasts years of school. During many years, I wanted to be a doctor. I used to love science: Physics, Chemistry and Biology were subjects that I used to study with a lot of energy. I thought that it would be helpful in the future, if I wanted to be a doctor. And when I was a child, I wanted to be a veterinarian, because a used to love animals and the scientific work. But in my lasts years of school I started to have some kind of philosophical interests or more humanistic and social interests. Because of that, I didn't have too many clarity about what I was going to do with my future. My interests changed a lot. In that moment, Psychology appeared as a good option, because my intellectual interests were coherent with the kind of topics that you can study in Psychology. Besides, with this career I have the opportunity to do something meaningful with my job in the future.
I remember that, when I applied to the to the university, Psychology was my only option. I also putted Anthropology as another option, but I knew that I really didn't wanted to study that. I also remember that I had to determine what university was going to be my priority. I decided to apply to Universidad de Chile, mainly because it was cheaper than other universities and because I thought that it was a good university.
Until now, my experience at the university it's been great. I have learned a lot of things and I have made great friends. My experience in here has been really enriching. And, for now, I want to be a clinical psychologist. I don't know if that is what I want to do for my entire life or for a lot of years. But I know that I want to have that kind of academic training in this moment.

Hi! My name is José María Pizarro Chacón. Some people use to call me "Jota". I'm Chilean and I've lived in Chile my entire life. I'm 21 years old and I'm studying Psychology in the Universidad de Chile in this moment. I'm in my 4th year. I was born on 23rd May, in 1994, in a very rainy day. Actually, I'm only living with my parents, Gloria and José, but I have 2 brothers. One of them is Francisco, a 28 years old architecture. And the other one is Eduardo, who studied Pedagogía en Educación Física. He's 32 years old. Both have their own houses right now, and Eduardo lives with his wife and daughter.
In terms of my education, I graduated from school in 2012. I was in that particular school for 8 years, since 2005. After that, I entered the university. I wasn't sure about what I wanted to study, but finally I chose Psychology, because it was coherent with a lot of the intellectual interests that I had in that time. After all, I didn't feel the need to study another thing and stayed in Psychology. Actually, I'm really happy right now with what I'm studying. Now I have 2 more years ahead to finish my studies and to be a psychologist. Also, I want to do my practice in Clinical Psychology.
I've been practicing capoeira for 7 years. But right now I'm not having hard training. I actually left the periodical and hard training in 2012, when I left the school. But I'm still in contact with my capoeira friends and I still do some training to keep my body healthy and to have some fun. Also, when I was younger and when I was in school, I used to play the keyboard. I remember that I was in some bands: one reggae band and a cumbia band. I played in the Transantiago's buses with some friends also. We played cueca. It was a really good experience.
These are some things about my life and personal experience.
Have a nice day!
José.
